This September marked 5-year old Hope's 25th visit to Shriners Hospitals for Children® — Twin Cities. In honor of her 25th trip from Nebraska, Hope and her parents, Vicky & Scott, decided to hold a toy drive at Hope's school. They collected two large boxes of new toys, books and stuffed animals and brought them to the hospital to share with the patients. What an excellent example of youth giving back to youth! Thank you Hope!
Jerry & Mary Bristol brought in a carload of toys donated by the WI Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and also from Phil & Betty Link.
Madysen Moore, a Senior at the School of Environmental Studies in Apple Valley, MN
has been raising money to buy toys for the children at the hospital. Madysen has been helping her grandparents, William and Donna Neale, with fundraising projects
for most of her life. They've inspired her to organize her own events to raise money. Madysen organized a spa night at her school the night before prom for girls to come get their hair styled, get manicures & massages, and also she had a photographer on-site to professionally photograph the event. All
the professionals volunteered their time for the cause and businesses and friends donated food. The girls enjoyed a chocolate fountain, cookies and other refreshments. The event was a huge success! Later, Madysen and her friends went shopping with the money and purchased
toys from the Needs list provided by the Womens General Auxiliary website. This event was dedicated by Madysen to the memory of her grandmother who passed away four days after the event. Her grandmother is Donna Lee Neale and she was a member of the Northeastern Auxiliary of South Dakota and in January of 1995 served as President for five years. She was currently serving as secretary before her death on May 15th, 2011. Our Thanks and Congratulations to Madysen for her wonderful leadership and support!
